Ebikemarfa is proud to announce that we are now an official ebike tour guide concessionaire at Big Bend Ranch State Park! Ebikes are a great way to experience the park. All the 2WD and 4WD drive dirt roads in the park are open for ebikes (regular mountain bikes are allowed on the hiking trails).
Our RadRover ebike allow you to get out of the car and enjoy the fresh air and scenery. You can pedal as little or as much as you like to get as much of a workout as you wish. The nice thing about riding an ebike is that you do not need to worry about the uphill parts!
We respect our mountain biker friends and encourage you to contact one of the excellent guides that offer traditional mountain biking with access to all the trails if that is your thing. If you are interested in the biking experience and don't feel ready to go on a mountain bike, consider an ebike. It's a great way to see the park while accommodating riders of all skill levels in one group.
Covid-19 considerations: TPWD has closed all 4WD roads at the park for the summer. Two great rides are available. The Llano loop is an easy 8 to 12 mile ride through the grasslands. The La Mota road is a bit more interesting with some twists and turns and ups and downs. From Sauceda HQ, it is about 15 miles round trip. To maintain social distancing, all riders are asked to meet at Sauceda HQ in their own vehicle. Your guide will wear a mask at all times and maintain distance whenever possible. Bikes and helmets are sanitized before every ride.
Ebikemarfa is unable to provide meals due to insurance considerations. Please bring snacks or a lunch with you. We will be happy to carry it in our bike trailer. Please wear sturdy shoes and long pants. Always be prepared for rain with a good jacket and bring sunscreen. We can provide helmets or you can bring your own.
From Marfa, the park is accessed via Presidio (60 miles), then 6 miles east on River Road to Casa Piedra Road. Take this dirt road north about 6 miles and then turn right towards the park. You will get to the official entrance portal in a couple miles. Then it is another 18 miles of dirt road to the meeting place at Sauceda HQ Visitor Center.
